Application of Traditional Karate Techniques
I. Kake Waza
Attack with or without opponent's attack. Direct execution of
technique.
II. Oji Waza
Response to the opponent's attack.
1. Sen At the beginning of opponent's attack.
Kake no sen Before movement.
Tai no sen During movement.
2. Go no sen After opponent's attack.
Amashi waza Shifting/Turning body.
Uke waza Blocking.
III. Shikake Waza Creating an opening in opponent's kamae.
Sasoi waza Trick or deceive the opponent.
Renzoku waza / Kogeki waza Continuous attack.
Kuzushi waza Unbalance opponent.
