Sensei Juan Balmaceda is a certified black belt in
Shotokan Traditional Karate with the International
Traditional Karate Federation under Master Hidetaka
Nishiyama.
He is the founder of Poway Shotokan Karate Academy
and Traditional Karate Institute. Sensei Juan is a direct
student of Hidetaka Nishiyama Sensei, Chairman of The
ITKF and founder of Japan karate Association. Sensei
Juan has 32 years experience and he has been teaching
karate for 26 years and many years as Assistant
Instructor of Hidetaka Nishiyama Sensei at The National
Karate Institute in Los Angeles, California; the most
prestigious Karate School in the World.
Sensei Juan is an active member of the AAKF Western
Region Technical Committee.
Sensei Juan is committed to spread the understanding
of authentic Traditional Shotokan Karate.

Nishiyama introduced The New Traditional Karate
Training System. Original Okinawan Principles applied to
